This application form is for a comprehensive poetry editing service, focusing on
–development and structure of the piece(s)
–line editing for style, diction, and phrasing
–copyediting for spelling, punctuation, and grammar
The cost includes 2 rounds of editing, covering these services.
Here’s how it works:
1 // You fill out the form below with details about your project, including word count.
2 // I’ll email you back within 48 hours with a projected timeline and personalized service description. If you’re happy with it, I’ll then send an invoice, and directions for how to submit your poetry document (google doc).
3 // After receipt of payment, I’ll get to work on your project based on our timeline, and will return your poetry carefully edited with thoughtful suggestions, any mechanical corrections, and questions from the POV of a reader. I strive to be an encouraging, uplifting voice, even when offering you ideas for improvement. I want you to feel inspired through our collaboration!
I use comments and tracked changes in google docs to give written feedback—the final decision for accepting or rejecting suggested changes will always rest with the client.
4 // After you receive my first comments and suggestions, you can send it back to me again with any revisions you’d like me to take note of. I will review it a second time with your revisions, and return it with any final comments.
Cost is a flat rate determined by initial word count at $0.23 per word. 200 word minimum.
Turnaround time is dependent on the length of the document, and whether or not a submission deadline is in play.
