what kind of
hate
is going to win?
will you tell me?
is it going to be
these blazing guns,
metal barrels of fear
and bullets of bitterness,
pouring shot
into soft bodies?
supremacist arrogance
soldered to self-preservation
and self-righteous certainty
slathered in piety?
will you tell me?
will you tell me
instead
it’ll be a refusal
to relinquish
the humanity
of any
to the black hole
of hatred?
will you tell me
that contempt
will be escorted
to the tarmac
and catch
the next flight
off the planet?
will you chip in
for a one-way
ticket?
will you tell me?
will you tell me
that love
is gonna win?
